Born in New Jersey, Fenlator received a Bachelor’s degree in multimedia communications and advertising from Rider University, and completed her Master’s degree at the California University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in exercise science. She is now pursuing her MBA at DeVry University with a concentration in marketing.

During her time at Rider, she competed on the track and field team for shot put, discus, and hammer, becoming the first student in the school’s history to rank in the top 25 track and field athletes nationally. After her graduation from Rider, her track coach suggested that she try a bobsled camp and it was then when she fell in love with the sport.

Fenlator started as the brakeman, then made the switch to the pilot position. In just her third season as pilot, she has already earned two World Cup medals, a silver in Lake Placid, New York, and a bronze in Igls, Austria. Her victories do not come without struggle, as Jazmine’s mother underwent major surgery and her family nearly lost their home in Hurricane Irene just months before competing in her first World Championships in Lake Placid.

I really appreciate Jazmine taking the time to talk with us from Germany just before leaving for Sochi with the Olympic Team. Go Jazmine!!

JB wasn’t done there.  The Million Dollar Arm is a nation-wide competition held in India that seeks out top athletes to compete in baseball for a Major League contract.  The two athletes who won the competition had never even heard of the sport of baseball, but ended up getting signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates after working with renowned pitching coach, Tom House.  Disney picked up the story and made a movie based on JB’s life, and his experiences as an agent and the Million Dollar Arm competition.  The movie, Million Dollar Arm, stars Jon Hamm, Alan Arkin, Bill Paxton, Lake Bell, and releases in May 2014.

Thanks to JB for his time and a great conversation about his sports life.  Most definitely looking forward to the movie!
