Jackie Chamoun is a professional Alpine skier from Lebanon. Jackie fell in love with the sport at an early age when her family frequented the ski resort on weekends and holidays. After high school, she went abroad to study Sports and Events Management in Switzerland as a way to combine her love of sports with education.

Jackie won the title of national slalom champion in 2009 and has competed in two World Championships and first competed for Lebanon in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Jackie showed her amazing resolve in her sport when she broke her thumb at the end of last season with 4 runs to complete and pushed through the pain to compete and come 1st overall in the women’s slalom.

In Sochi 2014, she will be Lebanon’s only female skier to compete in the Olympic Games, and one of only two athletes to compete. Jackie hopes to improve sports in Lebanon by encouraging children to participate in athletics, and putting in place better practice facilities.
