is a mixed martial artist who competes as a heavyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Born in Sandpoint, Idaho, Jared started wrestling in high school and was a member of Wrestling USA Magazine’s 2005 All-America Dream Team, winning 4 state championships and a pair of state titles in Idaho before moving to Oklahoma his junior year. He finished high school with a 150-5 career.

Jared wrestled for Oklahoma State University where he was a 3-time All-American and a 3 time Big-12 finalist. He finished his collegiate wrestling career with an overall record of 125-27, qualifying him as the winningest heavyweight in the history of the Oklahoma State wrestling program. Jared’s OK State wins also qualified him as the 5th most victories by a wrestler in any weight class in Oklahoma State history.

It was no surprise to Jared’s fans that he followed in his former UFC fighter older brother’s footsteps and enter into MMA competition. Jared debuted as an MMA professional in a match in 2011, where he won by submission in 1:17 of the first round. Jared later signed with the UFC, winning his first match at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale via unanimous decision. Jared’s current record boasts 9 wins, 3 by knockout, and 1 loss.
